Reflection: how do you make the most of a year of travel?

There are a lot of positive things about Cuba; the internet is (thankfully?) not one of them. I did manage to get my fix of social media today, at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba. My friend Cindy from Quebec sent me a very cool little message saying: "you have to make the most of this trip, for everyone who wants to do it and who envies you, it's YOUR DUTY (I can absolutely picture her saying that and I love it :-D) lol. Fine — but it's a question that was already working on me... How do I make the most of a trip like this? In fact I've probably asked myself that on every trip... Do you have to do all the museums? All the notable sites? Get up early and go to bed late? It's not obvious... First I'm going to have to work out what I want to do, and find my own rhythm... Given that I'm on my own, that should be manageable. Then I intend to live in the present moment, not think about the past, definitely not think about coming home, or about the next stop... That's going to be the hardest part... I'll also need to stay open to new things and to what other cultures can give me... At my first breakfast in Cuba I agreed to have coffee, something I'd never done in my life.... It was excellent.
