So, you remember that song — well, that's me, ever since I left... Let me explain. While I was preparing for the trip I went through a lot of blogs, which inspired me enormously. All of them, generally kept by "hardcore" backpackers, kept explaining that you had to travel light, that it was hugely important, a 13 kg bag and no more, 50 litres... Anyway, cross-referencing all that, I told myself I should take a few t-shirts, one shirt, a pair of trousers, a few pairs of shorts and some swim shorts.... Now, while packing I was well aware that none of this was very compatible with the life of even a moderate salsero (when I went away for salsa weekends, my suitcase averaged 16 kg), but I told myself it would be fine, that I should be less superficial, and so on... It went very well in Cuba, but I didn't go out much there and I moved around the island a fair bit, so wearing the same thing often didn't matter. Mexico is another story... between tango and salsa I go out more, and above all, there's Facebook... I got tagged in a photo wearing a t-shirt.. and that was already the second salsa night that week I'd worn it*, so if I get tagged again in the same one I can already see the comments raining in from my Marseille friends :-D. On top of which — and this is where the title of this post comes from — I packed almost nothing but blue going-out clothes :-S ... not to mention that washing by hand over and over makes certain t-shirts lose their sparkle... anyway, this afternoon I'm going to Zara!
*I should point out that I do laundry pretty much every day, so everything I put on is always clean :-)
